About this guide
Each card in the Shortlist holds published facts about one casino, all checked on October 7, 2026. When kept cards stand side by side, the rows where they differ are marked, and nothing is ranked.
By the Side-by-Side EditorsChecked October 7, 2026
Each of the nine casinos gets one card, and every card carries the same rows. They cover floor hours, days with live tables, poker, a hotel on site or next door, RV parking, shows, food, and who runs the casino. Where a casino publishes nothing on a row, the card says so. Silence never counts as yes or no.
The Shortlist runs in your browser. You keep a card or skip it, and the kept cards stand side by side with the rows where they differ marked.
Cards come in alphabetical order, or shuffled at random when you ask for it. Neither order puts one casino above another.

All hours are local Saskatchewan time, as each casino publishes them. Under The Time Act, 2026, Saskatchewan keeps Central Standard Time year-round, so its clock is always the same as Alberta's.
On each card, the hours run across a single week starting Monday. A session that goes past midnight counts on the day it began. A late close stays on the line of the evening it began. Where a casino's own pages give different figures, the card leaves the figure out.
Because Casino Regina's own pages disagree on Sunday hours, its card shows no Sunday floor time. Northern Lights Casino does not say whether its Saturday 24 hours run past midnight. Its Sunday from 12 AM to 9 AM is therefore not stated either way. Both were read again on October 9, 2026. Holiday hours are left out; for those, see the casino's own site.
On a card, each distance is measured as a straight line rather than as a driving distance. Starting from the OpenStreetMap coordinates of each casino, the guide works out the line to three points: Prince Albert, Regina City Hall and Saskatoon City Hall. No travel times are given.
Any casino without a picture gets a card face drawn by code: a dot on Saskatchewan's outline from Natural Earth, public domain. The same face gives straight-line distances to Saskatoon and Regina and the published week of floor and live-table hours. Five pictures in all are generated images, each modelled on real photos of the place it shows. They show Bear Claw's entrance, Casino Regina's front in the former Union Station, its slot hall, Painted Hand's entrance canopy and Moose Jaw's Main Street with the casino front. None of the five shows people, and no photos from other sources appear anywhere on the site.

Facts on the cards were checked on October 7, 2026. They come from the casinos' own pages, SIGA and LGS pages, Government of Saskatchewan releases and other official sources.
Slot counts are rounded where a casino's site and SIGA's profile differ, so a card may read "about 600" or "more than 500". For other figures, if a casino's own pages disagree, the card leaves the figure out or says the pages differ.
No, they are all straight lines, measured from OpenStreetMap coordinates to Saskatoon City Hall, Regina City Hall or Prince Albert. No travel times are given.
The Shortlist ranks nothing. Cards come in alphabetical order or shuffled at random, and the rows where kept cards differ are marked.
The casino publishes nothing on that row, and the card says so. Silence counts as neither yes nor no.
